India vs. Bangladesh Test series
In the India vs Bangladesh Test series, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is on the verge of achieving a major milestone. By taking just 6 more wickets, he will enter the elite club of Kapil Dev and R. Ashwin.
The two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh will begin on Thursday, with the first match to be held in Chennai. Ravindra Jadeja, the world’s No.1 Test all-rounder, will return to action after the T20 World Cup 2024. Having retired from T20 International cricket, Jadeja has set his sights on a major record in the Bangladesh series. If he takes 6 wickets, he will achieve a significant milestone and join the exclusive club of Kapil Dev and R. Ashwin.
Jadeja is on the threshold of becoming the third Indian cricketer to score 3000 runs and take 300 wickets in Test matches. So far, he has scored 3036 runs and taken 294 wickets in 72 Test matches. Jadeja made his Test debut in December 2012. Kapil Dev, who led India to the 1983 World Cup title, scored 5248 runs and took 434 wickets in 131 Test matches. Meanwhile, R. Ashwin has scored 3309 runs and taken 516 wickets in 100 Test matches.
Once Jadeja takes 6 more wickets, he will join Kapil Dev and Ashwin in this elite club and become the seventh Indian bowler to take 300 or more Test wickets. Before him, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Kapil Dev, R. Ashwin, and Ishant Sharma have achieved this feat. It is worth noting that Jadeja missed the 2022 Test series against Bangladesh, where India won 2-0.

The Indian team is practicing hard at the Chepauk ground for the upcoming Bangladesh series. After a rest day on Sunday, the players resumed their third training session on Monday. Jadeja, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, focused on intense batting practice against local bowlers and throwdown specialists. The Chennai pitch is usually spin-friendly, so it’s highly likely that India will play with three spinners and two fast bowlers,
